Abstract. Issues of Russian-Chinese cooperation on research, production and marketing of pheromones of insect pests for agriculture and forestry were considered. Active development of this line of research to ensure integrated plant and environment protection was emphasized. Some data on recent field tests of pheromones of FGBU “VNIIKR” held in China were provided. Cooperation prospects of quarantine phytosanitary services of two countries were formulated.

Abstract. Experience of phytosanitary risk analysis (PRA) in Plant Protection and Inspection Services of Israeli Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development was examined. Phytosanitary risk assessment standard and different types of PRA conducted by the PRA division of Services, and technical documents, developed on the basis of PRA results, are reviewed. Main legislative, administrative and technical phytosanitary measures, used by different subdivisions of Services, are examined.

Abstract. The present article contains the results of analyzing the five methods of phytoplasma DNA extraction from plant materials. The method of spectrophotometry was used to determine the extracted DNA’s quality and quantity. The sensitivity of the analyzed methods was measured by RT-PCR, using the method of DNA dilutions. The research has shown the two most appropriate methods of DNA extraction, with the commercial kit «DNeasy Plant mini Kit» and the optimized phytoplasma DNA extraction method by Doyle and Doyle.

Abstract. An alternative to chemical control approach against late blight with application of new generation microbiological fertilizer Baikal EM1 is considered. Impact analysis of this agent on vulnerability of tomato to late blight. Tests were conducted on two tomato cultivars of different maturation periods (control) along with application of Baikal EM1 on these cultivars. Key factors of advantages in application of Baikal EM1 are reduction of number of bushes and leaves deceased by late blight and as a consequence increase in productivity.

Abstract. After emergence in the European Russia the emerald ash borer acclimatized ash greeneries in inhabited localities, shelterbelts and forests in a number of regions in the central part of the country and caused significant damage. However, from 2013 onwards apparent reduction of borers and improvement of ash condition were registered. The article reports information about pest parasitoids and shows ashes recovery after cessation of borer attacks.

Abstract. The article contains information on terebrant thrips species (Thysanoptera, Terebrantia) detected as a result of quarantine phytosanitary test of the products imported in the Kaliningrad region. The analysis of detection frequency of the quarantine species Frankliniella occidentalis, and the difference between morphologically close species is shown.
